I’m a digital marketing specialist. That means I help your business reach the right audience online to enable you to achieve your business goals, whether that’s more sales, more visibility or reputation.
I look at how your business is represented online and we discuss what works and what doesn’t.
We look at your website and anything else you are currently doing online (eg social media, content, newsletters). I listen to what you want to achieve online and then I create a marketing strategy and action plan to help you do that.
My approach centres around your website and looks at how you use that to attract and convert customers. I don’t do paid search marketing, apps or ecommerce and I’m not a social media specialist. I believe that before you even consider any of that, you need to have a well designed website, that’s easy to find, easy to use, works in harmony with your social media platforms and is full of good quality useful content that will persuade your customers to buy from you.

Get found online
My first goal when working with clients is to ensure your business is visible in the first place.
Your website needs to be easily found by your target market and that doesn’t mean that when they type in your domain name on the internet, you rank number one in the search engine.
It means when people have a problem and they are searching for a solution that you provide, they find you on the internet.
It means your web page comes up in the search engine results, or they see your social media posts, your video on Youtube or they see your guest post on another site.
It doesn’t matter how they get to your website, the important thing is, they are on your website and they have a reason for being there. They found you online.
Engage & help
Think of the internet as a problem solver. Someone has a problem, good or bad, they type that problem into the search engine and click onto the website that seems to offers the best solution.
But when they get to the website if they don’t get what they need, they won’t stick around.
So how can you make people stay on your website?
Simple – make sure your website and social media are helpful and engaging through effective content creation.
That might be cleverly crafted copy, stunning images and video or interactive content.
You’re over the first two hurdles – you’ve got visitors to your site and you’ve managed to engage them long enough to get your message across.
So now what do you want them to do?
Don’t leave them hanging and undo all the hard work you’ve put in so far.
You should view every page of your website as a potential way to build up your customer base. Whether you are looking to channel them through your sales funnel, get their email, pick up the phone to find out more or place an order or share your content, make sure you have a plan in mind and a clear call to action.
